So the problem with signing up for marathon #2 is that I've already run one marathon so I know I can do it. With the 1st one I thought I had to do every training run because I was scared if I didn't I wouldn't be able to finish the marathon in 6 hours. Well no need to worry I finished it in 5 hours and 55 minutes and that was with stopping to take pictures at every mile mark, stopping for the potty 4 times (there were 3 of us), stopping to chat with our hubbies at the half way point, etc. I felt great when I finished and didn't ever hit a wall. So this go around I keep thinking ahhh it's no big deal I can do it. SO I've missed several training runs and actually have a bad attitude about training. I've talked with my running partner and she has the same bad attitude so we decided we better get it together and change our attitude. I tried and tried but just didn't want to run and hated when I did, every run felt hard and I wasn't having fun. I have a marathon in October so I need to train and I promised my sister-in-law that I'd run it with her and since it's her first I can't let her down. So last night I decided to pray to my Heavenly Father and ask for his help.
Well guess what?
This morning I woke up at 5am and jumped right out of bed. Even though I went to bed at midnight last night so I didn't get much sleep I was still rested. I got ready and as I left I was excited to run again. I ran the first 3 miles and felt great, next 3 still great. Even towards the finish I was still feeling good, tired but good!
When I got home I realized that my prayer had been answered!
Along the trail I saw a deer, a skunk and so many bugs it was crazy! At one point I was running into a swarm of bugs and the 2 girls I was running with started laughing because they were all over me. When we stopped to get water I had them stuck to my neck and on my ipod. Gross! Ya know what's even worse, when I took a shower today I had bugs down my shirt.
Although I am super thankful today because even with all the bugs I still enjoyed it and it felt great!
